At the invitation of ELSA Bulgaria, a public lecture on “Legal Aspects of Gambling Activities” was delivered by the Chief Lawyer of the Association of Organizers of Gambling Games and Activities in Bulgaria (AOGGAB), lawyer Kiril Gruychev, at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

 

Over 100 students and citizens participated in the meeting at the Mirror Hall of the University, where the history and legal framework of gambling in Bulgarian legislation before 1946 and after 1989 were discussed. Among the topics, were the types of gambling and participants in gambling, supervision, gaming equipment, advertising and prevention of money laundering in gambling activities, as well as taxation.

 

The students from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and New Bulgarian University showed great interest in cases from the practice of lawyer Kiril Gruychev. The chief lawyer of AOGGAB is a graduate in Bulgarian Language and also has a law degree the South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, Blagoevgrad. Since 2014 he has been a member of Sofia Bar Association and is listed as a trustee.
